Florida Technical College Spreads Christmas Cheer with Community Festival in all Campuses

ORLANDO, Fla., December 17, 2018 — Florida Technical College welcomed the Christmas season on December 1 in all its campuses with the celebration of its traditional Winter Festival, a highly anticipated festivity that transformed each school into a Christmas wonderland. The event welcomed dozens of families to the school’s six locations in Central and South Florida for a fun-filled day that featured a Santa Claus station, face painting for kids, games, giveaways and live music. The beautiful installations and festive ambiance showcased FTC’s commitment to bring the magic of Christmas to its community.

“Christmas is about love, generosity and giving,” said FTC President Dr. James Burkett. “For many people going through difficult times, Christmas time is not filled with joy as it should be. We strive to do our part in spreading this season’s joyful and peaceful meaning by giving back to the community and welcoming it to our campuses with open arms.”

Also, during the Winter Festival Florida Technical College began its annual tradition of collecting gifts for Toys for Tots in donation bins placed in all six campuses. Students, faculty and staff contribute every year with toys for the nonprofit organization run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes gifts to children whose parents cannot afford to buy Christmas presents.

The Winter Festival was held simultaneously in FTC campuses in Deland, Kissimmee, Lakeland, Orlando, Pembroke Pines and Cutler Bay, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. More than 300 people of all ages attended. Those interested in learning about Florida Technical College’s programs were invited to attend an informative presentation.
