10/02/2017 – Statement From our Presisent: Dr Burkett

“Following what was the worst hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in over 80 years, a majority of its 3.4 million U.S. citizens now face severe post-disaster conditions. Among them, are the thousands of students, faculty, and staff of our sister institutions in Puerto Rico: National University College, Instituto de Banca y Comercio and Ponce Paramedical College. We are doing our part to support Puerto Rico’s recovery and help alleviate the current humanitarian crisis. This is our family, these are our people. We will stand by them in this hour of need.

In the days and weeks ahead, Florida Technical College will be collecting emergency relief donations, in all of our six Florida campuses to be distributed in Puerto Rico. We are also devising a plan to help hurricane victims who are displaced to Florida from Puerto Rico, achieve their educational goals. Please rest assured that we are diligently working out the details for both of these initiatives, and will be making an official announcement soon.

Meanwhile, please keep our Puerto Rican family in your prayers and don’t lose faith. Together, we will rise stronger.”

Dr. Mike Burkett, President FTC
