    FLORIDA TECHNICAL COLLEGE & THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF CENTRAL FLORIDA OPEN BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS TO SUPPORT LOCAL BLACK LEADERS IN THEIR PURSUIT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL SUCCESS



    United by a shared commitment to broaden horizons and create opportunities for exceptionally talented Black and African American individuals, Florida Technical College (FTC) and the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida (AACCCF) have joined forces to award the Business Opportunity Scholarship, a full tuition scholarship valued at up to $61,1 78, to a local entrepreneur.

    The scholarship covers the tuition and fees for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, aiming to empower the recipient with essential skills for success in the competitive business environment.

    Recognizing the diversity of educational needs, the program is offered fully online. This ensures that individuals can tailor their educational experience to suit their unique circumstances while still gaining access to the high-quality education offered by FTC.

    In addition to academic support, the selected recipient will receive a new laptop and will receive an exclusive pass to attend AACCCF’s annual Empowerment Business Summit. This summit is more than an event; it's a unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain insights, and be a part of a community dedicated to empowering success.

    This is a call to local entrepreneurs with a vision, a drive, and an innovative spirit. The Business Opportunity Scholarship is not just a chance for financial assistance; it is an invitation to be part of a community that believes in your potential to make a significant impact on Central Florida’s economy.



    Eligibility

    • Be the founder or co-founder of a local or online business
    • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the community
    • Be a United States citizen
    • Be able to communicate and engage in English
    • Must have high school Diploma or GED
    • Eligible applicants include Black & African American
    • Provide a written explanation (120 words or less) detailing contributions to the community and explaining how a degree would help further their career. Video submissions are optional.

    *Award will be based on applying, meeting all qualifying criteria, and a review by a scholarship board consisting of representatives from Florida Technical College and the African American Chamber of Commerce.

      CONSENT AND RELEASE
      For good an valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledge: The undersigned (“I” or “me”), being competent and of legal age, hereby consents, authorizes and grands Florida Technical College, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, designees, predecessors, successors and assigns, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, employees, predecessor, successors and assigns, and anyone authorized by any one of them (collectively, “FTC”) the right, license and permission to use my name, image, likeness, voice, statements, actions and/or biographical material for any purpose and in any manner whatsoever as FTC so chooses in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, as well as for advertising, marketing, publicity and promotion. Any films, audiotapes, videotapes, photographs, other recordings or reproductions of my name, image, likeness, voice, statements, actions and/or biographical material may be used as recorded, in whole or in part or may be edited (as determined solely by FTC, or its representatives). However, FTC has no obligation to use name, image, likeness, voice, statements, actions and/or biographical material.
      I hereby waive any right, which I may have to inspect or approve the use of my name, image likeness, voice, statements, actions and/or biographical material. I agree that any materials created or produced under this agreement are the sole property of FTC and its representatives, and that FTC does not owe me any compensation should it choose to use my name, image likeness, voice, statements, actions and/or biographical material.
      I hereby release and forever discharge FTC and its officers, directors, shareholders, representatives, agents, successors and assigns, and anyone authorized by any of them, from any and all rights, claims, payments, demands, damages, and actions (including negligence), whether accrued or unaccrued, known or unknown, which I my heirs, executors or assigns may have in connection with the use of my name, image likeness, voice, statements, actions and/or biographical material in any and all media. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless FTC and its officers, directors, shareholders, representatives, agents, successors and assigns, and anyone authorized by any of them, from and against any liabilities, losses, claims, demands, actions, costs (including without limitation attorney’s fees) and expenses arising from any breach or alleged breach of the above terms and provisions contained herein.
      This release constitutes our entire understanding and agreement with respect to the subject matter hereof and cannot be amended except in written document signed by both parties. This release will inure to the benefit of and will be binding on our respective affiliates, successors, licensees, assigns, heirs and representatives.
      By signing my name, I acknowledge that I have carefully read, or have had read to me, this agreement and understand that it is both a consent to use and a complete release of the above-described claims.
